Stylist • Owner • Wax Specialist • Nail Technician
I have been expanding my skills as a cosmetologist over 30+ years and truly enjoy it. I have been fortunate enough to have practiced from coast to coast, so I have had the opportunity to learn from many different styles and many different eras. My love of learning and education fuels me in many aspects of my life including how I relate to my clients. I can take a little longer than the average stylist because of this, however I think that you will find that the wait is worth your while. Everyone is unique in their haircare needs which sometimes can be challenging but I look forward to getting to know you and helping to make it easier. I bring a very unique warm and caring approach to developing each individuals definition of their ideal image. I like to factor in each person's characteristics as well as the demands on their time and haircare needs to develop a style tailored to each person. That is one of the favorite parts of my career. I specialize in fine hair, challenging directional growth patterns (cowlicks) and hair with a variety of curl. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve your favorite style.

I graduated from beauty college in 2000, right after graduation, I started my apprenticeship with Edward Wadsworth for Hair in Portland. I specialized in color and trained for almost two years under a top colorist in the Portland area.
Over the years, I have worked at a few different salons, including Aveda, for ten years. I made the decision to share what I have learned and pursued a direction in education where I spent the next five years sharing my passion for color and applied my love of solving problems
to further my knowledge of color correction. I taught in the classroom as well as on the salon floor. I especially enjoyed teaching advanced classes on color theory. I found myself wanting a little more and missing my career in the salon and then I found Salon Mariposa. I have a diverse background in many different hair types including ethnic hair. I specialize in challenging color situations, coarse and /or thick hair types.
I pride myself in my color knowledge and I am glad to finally call Salon Mariposa home, where I can utilize my skills and love meeting amazing people daily.

I began my beauty career at the Summit Salon Academy in Portland. I’ve been a stylist since 2015, and continued learning under Stephanie in our associate program. Education is very important to me, and I make a point to go to as many classes and seminars as possible. I love keeping up on all the latest hair and makeup trends; though I tend to drift towards more natural looks, I enjoy working with vivid colors and statement pieces as well. I offer all hair and aesthetic services, however I like to focus on color, blow outs, and makeup.
Most of my free time is spent outside; a lot of it at the local dog parks with my fur baby. I also love hiking, swimming, and curling up with a good book. Volunteering is very important to me, and I love being able to use my cosmetic knowledge to be able to give back.

I have had a love of hair since I was a child. It all started out with braiding my Barbie’s hair. As I got older my close friends were always willing to let me play with their hair. In high school word got around and soon I was doing updo’s on friends of friends for homecomings and proms. When I graduated it was a natural decision for me to attend Cosmetology school. I graduated cosmetology school in 2004. I worked for JC Penney in Kansas for a while until my husband and I moved to Oregon in December of 2006. I continued to work for JC Penney where I met Stephanie, Jennifer and Jo. I am blessed to be working with friends that are so individually talented.
My specialties lay in updo’s, fun unique color, as well as a more conservative color. I enjoy a good challenge while keeping the hairs integrity intact. Healthy hair is beautiful hair after all.

I started doing hair as a kid, first on myself , when I learned that overnight braids can give beautiful next day waves, then as I practiced on my younger sisters, my interest grew. My sisters all had very long hair and I loved doing “princess” braids and duplicating elf hairstyles from the Lord of the Rings movies. Eventually, I began doing their haircuts as well. As an adult, I spent a ton of time with friends doing their hair, nails, and makeup, but never really considered it as a career until I acted as stylist for my sister’s wedding in 2014. I received so many compliments and enough urging to finally look into cosmetology school. I spent my education working on fashion shows, photo shoots, weddings, and competitions, trying to absorb all the knowledge and experience I could get. I graduated with a full cosmetology license from Beau Monde in 2017 and have loved working behind the chair ever since.
I’ve always adored the use of hair as an art medium and a means of self-expression, and it makes me so happy to help people look and feel good! My goal is always for healthy hair that makes you feel right – unique and confident and beautiful. I love learning about my clients and helping to personalize their look and fit it into their lifestyle, and I am always pursuing continuing education to give my clients the best information and results. I specialize in braids, fashion colors, and Brazilian Blowouts.
